Gayle Celebration after win
As super eight is coming to an end a real excitement actually began for all the cricket lover around the globe. It was all because of the first match today West indies got rid of the defending champions in a super over exceptional finish starting and ending with sixes respectively chasing 17 in super over.Gayle 30(14) was in tremendous mood early on as the inning progressed during the day time in Palekelle where he hit couples of boundaries. He was smashing  the ball before holding a faint edge to the wicket-keeper off Southee.A marvelous start  of gayle went to vain as they were bundled out in 19.3 overs for 139  nearly showing the tradition of this World cup being batting 2nd friendly to win the game. But thanks to splendid spell from Sunil narine to put the brakes in the scoring of New-Zealand batsmen B.Mcullum was again out of color in the pressurize situation but it's like a deja vu for NZ when captain Taylor kept the chase alive hitting a mesmerizing six when needed of Marlon Samules end the game as a tie and headed of the super over again for the second time where they superbly put 17 on board and setting Westindies a daunting task to qualify for the next round. Gayle was always the favorite for this situation of which most of the fans have dreamed of and he proved it when he cloves the first ball out of the rope for a flat six on a no ball of Southee. Then Samules compensated his full toss that went fo six with a much more powerful hit above the head of  the best fielder of kiwis Martin Guptill making total of 19. It was not over for the W-indies as they should wait for the game between host Sri- lanka and Defending champions England.

Sri Lanka 169 for 6 (Jayawardene 42, Broad 3-32) beat England 150 for 9 (Patel 67, Malinga 5-31) by 19 runs

England after winning the toss put Lankan Lions to bat first and were in a great mood with both Dilshan and Jayawardene had a start. Though Dilshan gone early he remained at one end with Sangakarra . A series of wickets for Graeme Swann and Stuart board set the tone for the English fans but Thirimane and Thissara Perera counter attacked and made a good target of 170 in an even-Stefan ground.
Without Kieswetter, start was not as England hoped with Malinga picking two in his 1st over and rest for three in the remaining overs making total of 5 wickets in the inning. The defending champions like the Africans are lost somewhere and are giving a flop show in all departments but thanks to Samit patel and Grame Swann whose caliber and courage led them to a respective and fighting loss of just 19 runs. Some time its feels like English man have badly miss the second highest scorer of the World T20 Kevin Peterson. The disappointing start once again lead them out of the tournament giving chance for the West-Indies.
Carribeans are through to semifinal and a truely deserved position with the way Gayle had served their cricket. Now finally we got 2 teams from this group as West indies and Sri lanka for the semi-final while in Group 2 Kangaroos seems to have strong position in the table winning both of the match of super 8. Group 2 seems to have complicated as Group 1 from where its difficult to prdict which one is making through semi final.India , Pakistan and even mathematically South Africa have chance to qualify for the semi along with the most probable Australia.
